The idea of organising ELKA event came into our mind at the time when situation with electronic music in Minsk (Belarus) was showing almost no signs of live activity. More precisely, there was a number of musicians and groups composing music, but the results of their work was only known to a limited number of friends. From friend to friend, from one community to another wonderful sound pieces reached zavod kubik and the idea of launching ELKA.MNSK.2002 appeared itself and immediately was realised.

If speaking in terms, ELKA can be classified as a mini-festival of around electronic music and visual art. Up to the present time the following two ELKA events took place in the capital of Belarus, Minsk: ELKA.MNSK.2002 | ELKA.MNSK.2003.

Based of the first ELKA festival and being its logical continuation 'ELKAmpilation.001' CD was released on Gizmo Lab records in august 2003.
